The CISI will hold its inaugural education conference on 27 March at the British Museum in London
This half-day conference will review how financial education has been delivered in schools since it became embedded within the Mathematics and Citizenship Programmes of Study last September.
Matthew Bolton, Teaching and Learning Specialist at the CISI, said: “It will also focus on some of the current initiatives and activities facilitated by external organisations, which can assist those delivering the subject and help to contextualise financial concepts for young people. A number of teachers already heavily involved in delivering financial education and students will be speaking on the day.”
The conference, run by the CISI in partnership with the Personal Finance Education Group (pfeg) and the City Money Gallery at the British Museum, commences at 2pm, with networking and drinks from 5pm.
If you have friends or family working in the teaching profession who might find this event of interest, please pass on the conference details. Entitled The Reality of Financial Education, the conference is free and those interested in attending just need to either email educationdevelopment@cisi.org or visit cisi.org/financialeducation to book.
