The branch’s first annual dinner and social event since 2019 was set in the “magnificent former Lloyds and Midland bank buildings of the Bristol Harbour Hotel”, providing a “fascinating historical link” to the occasion, said outgoing branch president Lee Hissey, Chartered FCSI.

A message from Lee:

After such a tumultuous period for us all, it was great to finally be able to see fresh faces again and I would like to personally thank all those that were able to join us, including those from our partner professional bodies and the Bristol Junior Chamber.

Recognising the importance that our sector forms part of the local community, we were further joined by our nominated charity, the Quartet Community Foundation, to hear the tremendous work they do in supporting good causes across the West Country and notably the support that they have had in being able to make record distributions in helping others during the pandemic.

Further, I would like to extend my congratulations to all those who have achieved such notable success in securing their qualifications. With my tenure as president coming to a close, it is an opportune time to both congratulate and welcome Jamie Kirkpatrick, Chartered FCSI, as he moves into the role to take us forward into 2022 and beyond.

Nick Lee, trustee, Quartet Community Foundation, was guest speaker for the evening, inspiring over 70 guests to donate £1,130.

Top table guests included: Ololade Adesanya, deputy president, ICAEW west of England; Daniel St Quintin, president, Bristol Junior Chamber; Kobil Ruziev, associate head of department – Accounting, Economics and Finance, University of the West of England; Lee Hall, panel member, Bristol, ACCA
