Branch president Mark Rogers ACSI said to the 78 guests:

The Birmingham & West Midlands annual dinner was a great success and attended by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham and dignitaries such as Robert Davis OBE (AKA Jasper Carrott, comedian). The guest speaker was Robert Horsfall of Webster & Horsfall, a long-standing Birmingham company which celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2020. Webster & Horsfall laid the first transatlantic phone cable and have now innovated and diversified their deliverability to be a major hub of green energy. The whole evening was a celebration of success, which included the exam success of CISI members and the success of Birmingham as a thriving business and financial services hub and a young, diverse and integrated city.

There were two forms of fundraising on the night: a charity collection for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and a raffle for the following prizes: £100 John Lewis vouchers, afternoon tea for two at the Grand Hotel and a bottle of prosecco.

Top table guests included: Dearbhla Craddock, corporate partnership officer, Birmingham Children’s Hospital; the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Maureen Cornish; Colin Chapman, Chartered FCSI, deputy dean, Aston Business School; Dr Simeon Babatunde, programme director, Birmingham City Business School; Dr Lien Luu CFP™ MCSI.
