CISI Scotland Annual Dinner & Awards Night: Celebrating Scottish exam achievers

CISI’s outstanding exam candidates in Scotland were recognised at the event in Edinburgh, which raised £1,655 including Gift Aid for the national charity Children 1st

Speakers at the dinner included Alison Todd, Chief Executive of Children 1st, and Matthew Parris, a British Journalist and Former Conservative Politician.

Matthew, together with Lydia Romero, CISI’s Director of Learning, presented the awards to candidates who had achieved exceptional results in Scotland, two of whom won two awards each: Lewis Barnes from Baillie Gifford and Katarzyna Kmiecik from State Street Bank both collected the Scottish Joint Winner Award for the Investment Operations Certificate, and the Foundation Qualification Scottish Joint Winner Award for Introduction to Investment.

Top table guests included Christopher Clark MCSI, President of the CISI Scotland Region, Colin Anderson, CISI Client Relationship Manager, Scotland, and Alistair Haig ACSI, Early Career Fellow in Finance Corporate Engagement Manager at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

The event at the George Hotel in Edinburgh was enjoyed by 115 guests, who all contributed towards a prize draw for the children’s charity, with 100% of the proceeds going to the worthy cause. The first prize, kindly donated by the hotel, was a one-night stay for two, including a three course meal and full Scottish breakfast. Runners up had the choice of a variety of prizes to select from, including: £70 voucher for Jamie’s Italian Restaurants; a TM Lewin £30 gift voucher; whisky donated by Smith & Williamson; and various CISI goodies.

The dinner was also an opportunity to congratulate CISI Scotland members for achieving Chartered Member or Chartered Wealth Manager status between 1 August 2014 and 31 July 2015.
