Speaking of the funds raised at the recent CISI Guernsey Annual Dinner, Mark Symons, Chartered FCSI and President of the CISI Guernsey branch, said: “This is my last year as President of the Guernsey branch and I am delighted to be part of the effort to raise such a fantastic amount of money for our chosen charity.
“Caritas, under the direction of founder Reverend Richard Bellinger, is involved in establishing a residential community which welcomes, supports and nourishes young people in difficulty in the youth justice system, in distress or need, working with the land to grow self-esteem and change lifestyles.
“I understand our donation may be used for the acquisition of a mobile catering unit for the Charity and I would like to thank all our CISI members for their wonderful generosity for this very worthy cause. Caritas makes a difference on a daily basis to the lives of these young people and we are extremely pleased to be able to contribute to the charity’s activities.”
The CISI has over 500 Guernsey members. The branch arranges seminars and events over the year covering a broad spectrum of the securities and investment sector. The local committee is dedicated to providing a balanced programme of commercially focused seminars together with appropriate compliance and regulatory updates.
The next CISI Guernsey members’ event is on 23 March and entitled 'Absolute return investing: navigating an uncertain future'.
