The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) UK is delighted to be supporting the Financial Standards Planning Board (FPSB) in celebrating World Financial Planning Day (#WFPD), for a second year, on Wednesday 3 October.
World Financial Planning Day will be taking place during the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) World Investor Week (#WIW2018).
The FPSB launched World Financial Planning Day in 2017 as part of an initiative to increase consumers’ level of financial literacy, capability, and to help consumers understand the value of financial planning, as well as make investment choices within the context of financial and life goals.
During World Financial Planning Day, FPSB and its network of member organizations representing a global community of over 170,000 CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals will provide programs to promote consumer awareness and understanding of financial planning topics including debt management; preparing for an unexpected financial emergency; home ownership; building savings; investment planning; and preparing for retirement.
Jacqueline Lockie CFPTM Chartered FCSI, CISI UK Head of Financial Planning said: “World Financial Planning Day is an important date in our calendar where we come together with fellow financial planners across the globe to demonstrate the benefits of financial planning as one voice. Financial planning can benefit everyone by helping us see how our array of investments, pensions and savings can work for us to achieve what we want from life by planning well to live well."
