The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Jervis CFPTM Chartered MCSI as President of the CISI East Midlands committee. He takes over from David Spokes Chartered FCSI of Brewin Dolphin who held the position for the last three years.

Andy is Chairman and founder of Chesterton House Financial Planning Group based in200120AndyJervisEastMidlandsPresident Loughborough, which provides long-term financial planning, investment, accounting and legal advice to clients from across the UK. Andy was one of the first financial planners to qualify for the CFPTM licence in the area and has long experience in helping people to plan and organise their finances to be able to achieve their goals.

At one time Andy served as Birmingham Branch Chairman for the Institute of Financial Planning, so he brings valuable experience to his new role as CISI East Midlands President. He is a Loughborough man, having been born a few miles from the town and, although his five children are all grown and independent, his six grandchildren help ensure that he has his hands full outside of work.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy said: “This is a brilliant time to be a financial planner, with strong and rising demand for advice and services from an ageing but increasingly wealthy population. The dramatic improvements in technology, changes in legislation and practice, and ever-developing client needs make it essential for practitioners to be well qualified, up-to-date and able to communicate expertly and clearly. The CISI is ideally placed to deliver training in these skills, with an outstanding range of resources for members. I am delighted to be able to work with members to continue to build these resources in the East Midlands area. Hopefully we can also have some fun at the same time!”

Jim Winter, CISI Head of UK Business said: “We are delighted to welcome Andy as President of the East Midlands committee and look forward to supporting him in shaping the programme for 2020. Many thanks also to David Spokes for his leadership of the committee for the last three years.”

The next CPD event in the branch calendar is 13 February in Nottingham: Engaging with Your Business Protection Clients, The Challenge of Saving for Later life and Whistleblowing, Encouraging Openness in Your Business. Further details https://bit.ly/2RBv61V
