This agreement will allow Fikai Finance School in Bilbao, Spain to offer its students all the exams of the Institute related to the new European Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD).

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the leading international professional body in securities, investments, wealth and financial planning, present in 111 countries and recognized by 62 regulators, has accredited Fikai finance school in Bilbao as a training center provider (ATP).

Fikai, specialized in training financial advisers, will be able to offer the CISI exams related to the new European Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) at all three different levels.

The agreement has been subscribed, by the CISI, by its director in Spain, Rosa Mateus, after the approval of the Institute's Global Director of Learning, Susan Clements, and, on behalf of Fikai, by Juan Santos, managing partner of the Bilbao training center.

Rosa Mateus commented: "Beyond finance, our traditional market, we have included now a professional assessment to comply with the IDD requirements. The entry into force in Spain of the new European directive regulating the distribution of insurance products and services requires all organisations and all professionals in the industry to be able to prove their knowledge and competence in front of the Regulator. The CISI offers them international recognition, prestige and rigor that they will not find in any other certifying institution."

Juan Santos has stated: "We are very happy with this agreement, which will allow us to train all professionals in the industry who need to comply with the regulatory requirements of the General Directorate of Insurance and Pension Funds with respect to the IDD, whose accreditation has been delayed, in part, by the recent health crisis and, also, by the postponement in the transposition of the Directive; the Final Resolution that is expected to be published before the end of the year. We encourage the industry to take the corresponding measures immediately".
