The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is excited to announce that it will be moving its annual Financial Planning Conference online for 2020. A video launching the online conference can be viewed on YouTube, and a website can be found at cisi.org/fp20.

A full programme is available for the conference with a spotlight on financial planning best practice with global perspectives from Toronto to Tonbridge to Tasmania. There are 14 expert speakers confirmed so far and up to seven hours of CPD available. Financial planners can expect to have thought provoking, one-to-one conversations, group discussions, engaging bitesize sessions and great presentations all in one place.

The conference takes place on the afternoon of Tuesday 13 October and morning of Wednesday 14 October, sharing global perspectives as there are many experiences financial planners in differing countries share – issues facing clients translate globally. 13 October evening will see financial planners take a break for a relaxed evening to celebrate the achievements of the community at the online financial planning awards and social soirée – where there is also an afterparty for those who enjoy embracing the social aspects of conference.

Whilst 2020 has witnessed many online events, this conference filled with global best practice sharing will feel like a virtual reality of attending a conference physically with the comprehensive software that it will be hosted on.

The financial planning community, like others, has adapted to new circumstances, and more virtual ways of working and this is reflected in a session focused on “being a fully virtual financial planner” from New York writer and CEO, Joshua Brown. In addition to this there will be roundtable Q&A sessions with speakers and sponsors where attendees will have the opportunity to feed back.

Highlights for the CISI Financial Planning Conference online special include:

Opening keynote speaker Noel Maye, CEO, Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB)

This year we are moving our financial planning conference online with a redefined global perspective.  Having a state-of-the-art platform providing us the opportunity for delegate interaction and debates is really exciting. We have collaborated with the CISI Conference Committee, Financial Planning Forum Committee and CFP™ professional bodies in the FPSB network to bring you lots of new speakers who will share their best practice advancements with you.

Our speakers will be changing tack in the style of their delivery too in order for us to gain the most out of our time together.  Expect to be challenged and stimulated.

The conference is staggered across two days to allow a more flexible structure for delegates both in the UK and around the world.

“Given the year we have all had it will be a wonderful opportunity for us all to get together online.  We will celebrate what really makes us human and embrace the chance for meaningful debate and discussion. I can’t wait!”
